The Grand Prismatic Springs is the third largest hot spring in the world abd full of color due to the very special bacteria that call the boiling hot water of up to 189°F "home." The overall structyre of the book is inspired by French Fold Binding, in which of the surface of the folds are the book pages and the inside folds have bright pops of color, surprising and color full just like the Spring. The living temperatures of each specific bacteria (horizontal and vertical grid) and the proportion of color (circular grid) make up the typographical grid that the type and photos follow.
